eDPI Calculator
How to use it: pick your game, enter your mouse DPI and your in-game sensitivity. Your eDPI appears instantly. For Valorant, CS2 and Apex Legends you also see your 360 distance and the matching sensitivity in the other games.
This free eDPI calculator works out your effective DPI (eDPI), the number that describes how sensitive your aim really is. Two players can have completely different DPI and sensitivity settings and still move their crosshair exactly the same distance. eDPI combines both settings into one value, so you can compare setups, copy a setting you like, or keep your aim consistent when you change mouse.
The calculator runs in your browser, needs no download, and remembers your last values on this device.
What is eDPI?
eDPI stands for effective dots per inch. It is simply your mouse DPI multiplied by your in-game sensitivity:
eDPI = DPI x in-game sensitivity
A player on 800 DPI with a sensitivity of 0.4 has an eDPI of 320. A player on 1600 DPI with a sensitivity of 0.2 also has an eDPI of 320. Both turn exactly the same amount for the same hand movement, even though their settings look very different.
A lower eDPI means you need to move the mouse further to turn, which many players find easier to control for precise aim. A higher eDPI lets you turn faster with smaller movements.
How to use the eDPI calculator
- Choose your game, or Any game if yours is not listed.
- Enter your mouse DPI. If you are not sure, measure it with our Mouse DPI Analyzer.
- Enter your in-game sensitivity exactly as it appears in the game settings.
- Read your eDPI. For Valorant, CS2 and Apex Legends you also get your 360 distance in centimeters and inches.
- Use the Same feel in other games list to copy your aim to another game.
Why eDPI only compares within one game
Every game turns the camera by a different amount for each mouse count, so the same eDPI does not feel the same in every game. For example, 320 eDPI in Valorant feels about the same as roughly 1,000 eDPI in CS2. That is why eDPI is most useful for comparing players of the same game.
To compare across games, use the 360 distance: how far you move the mouse to turn a full circle. If two settings give the same cm/360, they feel the same, whatever the game. The calculator shows this for the games where the rotation values are well established.
Example eDPI values
| DPI | Sensitivity | eDPI |
|---|---|---|
| 400 | 0.8 | 320 |
| 800 | 0.4 | 320 |
| 800 | 1.27 | 1016 |
| 1600 | 0.2 | 320 |
| 1600 | 1 | 1600 |

How to find a good eDPI
There is no perfect eDPI for everyone. It depends on your game, your mouse pad size and whether you aim mostly with your wrist or your arm. A simple way to find yours:
- Start from a comfortable 360. Pick a setting where you can turn a full circle with one smooth sweep across your mouse pad.
- Test it. Practise for a few days with our Aim Trainer and in your game before changing anything.
- Change in small steps. Adjust your sensitivity by about 10 percent at a time, not in big jumps.
- Keep DPI fixed. Choose one DPI, such as 800 or 1600, and adjust only the in-game sensitivity.
Frequently asked questions
Is a lower eDPI better?
Not automatically. A lower eDPI gives you more control over small movements, while a higher eDPI makes fast turns easier. Choose the value that lets you both aim precisely and turn quickly enough for your game.
Does DPI affect eDPI more than sensitivity?
No. DPI and sensitivity count equally, because eDPI multiplies them. Doubling either one doubles your eDPI.
Does Windows pointer speed change eDPI?
Most shooters read raw mouse input, so Windows pointer speed does not affect your aim in the game. It still affects your cursor on the desktop.
Why does the calculator not show a 360 distance for Fortnite or Any game?
The 360 distance depends on each game’s rotation value. The calculator only shows it for games where that value is well established, so you never get a misleading number.
Is my data saved?
Your last DPI, sensitivity and game are saved in your browser on this device so they are there when you come back. Nothing is uploaded.
