Fortnite eDPI Calculator
How to use it: enter your mouse DPI and your Fortnite Mouse Sensitivity X as the percentage shown in the game, for example 8.0. Your Fortnite eDPI appears instantly.
This free Fortnite eDPI calculator works out your effective DPI from your mouse DPI and your Fortnite mouse sensitivity. eDPI lets you compare your setup with other players, copy a setting you like, and keep your aim the same when you change mouse or DPI.

How Fortnite eDPI is calculated
Fortnite shows mouse sensitivity as a percentage, so the percentage is turned into a decimal first:
Fortnite eDPI = DPI x (Mouse Sensitivity X / 100)
For example, 800 DPI with a sensitivity of 8.0% gives 800 x 0.08 = 64 eDPI. If your settings show a decimal such as 0.08 instead of a percentage, enter 8 in the calculator.
Where to find your Fortnite sensitivity
- Open Fortnite and go to Settings.
- Open the mouse and keyboard settings.
- Find Mouse Sensitivity X and Mouse Sensitivity Y. Most players keep them the same; use the X value.
- Your mouse DPI is set in your mouse software. If you are not sure of the real value, measure it with our Mouse DPI Analyzer.
Targeting and scope sensitivity are separate multipliers for aiming down sights and scopes. They do not change your base eDPI.
Fortnite eDPI examples
| DPI | Sensitivity X | eDPI |
|---|---|---|
| 400 | 10% | 40 |
| 800 | 6% | 48 |
| 800 | 8% | 64 |
| 800 | 10% | 80 |
| 1600 | 4% | 64 |
As the table shows, 800 DPI at 8% and 1600 DPI at 4% give exactly the same eDPI, so they feel the same in game.
Why Fortnite eDPI is not compared with other games
Fortnite uses its own sensitivity scale, so a Fortnite eDPI cannot be compared directly with a Valorant or CS2 eDPI. This calculator only converts between games when the rotation values are well established, so it does not convert Fortnite to other games. Compare your Fortnite eDPI with other Fortnite players instead.
Choosing a Fortnite sensitivity
Fortnite mixes aiming with fast building and editing, so many players choose a slightly higher sensitivity than in tactical shooters. A good test is whether you can turn around quickly to build while still tracking a moving target. Change your sensitivity in small steps and practise with the Aim Trainer to see what suits you.
For other games, use the general eDPI Calculator or the Apex Legends eDPI Calculator.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good eDPI for Fortnite?
There is no single right value. Choose a setting that lets you aim precisely and still turn quickly enough to build and edit.
Should X and Y sensitivity be the same?
Most players keep them equal so horizontal and vertical movement feel the same. The calculator uses the X value.
Does DPI matter more than in-game sensitivity?
No. eDPI multiplies them, so both count equally. Pick a DPI you like and adjust the in-game percentage.
